Fused Glass by Zoe Schoning
Fused Glass Jewellery and Workshops
Having always been fascinated by colour and light Zoe Schoning began fusing glass twelve years ago when she learnt the craft at a Guildhouse in the Cotswolds. Having lived and been educated in Cheltenham Zoe now has her glass work in various places worldwide and has recently been exhibited in the far East. Her work is now also in private collections throughout Europe. Zoe will also soon have her work in a new gallery which opens in September - Camel Valley Gallery in Wadebridge.

Zoe moved to Cornwall last year and now lives in Mullion. Having had no previous links to Cornwall it transpires that her great Aunt lived just doors away from where Zoe now lives and she was part of the setting up of the Marconi Project. This, alongside many other Cornish coincidences has made her feel like she has come home to roost. Her work has reflected the inspiration and motivation she has gained from being in such a beautiful part of the world here on the Lizard Peninsula.

Holding glass workshops in the Gallery Anthony has become important to Zoe - she thoroughly enjoys sharing the joy of glass with people who have never necessarily done anything like it before, and gains inspiration from creating art with others.

Zoe's latest pieces of work are the Dragonfly and the Sunflower which are both in Gallery Anthony. These were made using a technique consisting of hundreds of tiny pieces of glass fused together. In fact- the Sunflower is made up from 1200 hand-cut pieces. She likes the translucence and ephemeral feel this technique lends to the pieces.
Below are a pair of fused glass earrings, these can be made at one of Zoe's taster sessions.
From September Zoe will be expanding her workshops to create Christmas decorations as well as continuing pendant making sessions. Please come along to make your own Christmas gifts - each piece you create will be totally unique and therefore make it a very individual gift.
