Guestbook

We have been coming to Mullion Meadows for many years and especially to Gallery Anthony (we feel that both Anthony and Marjorie have become friends since we purchased our first picture - we have purchased many, many more since..). The whole site is well worth a visit (and we come down 2-3 times a year and always call in, however, this time (Sunday 17th February) when we called into the coffee shop, I noticed that the salt binders on the tables were purchased from Lidl - WHY, when the Cornish Sea Salt Co is only a couple of miles away and on the same Lizard Peninsula - I thought that sites such as this were also about promoting LOCAL products and not using multi-national supermarkets (or is it all about price - buy cheap and charge expensive?)

Thank you so very much for your hospitality today, 16th December 2018. There would have been more of us but right after a D&D with an overnight stay at the St Michaels hotel, Falmouth, most were overfull with grub. The weather did not help us and one accident resulting in hospital for one of our club, but 6 MX5's enjoyed a run from Falmouth via lovely very back roads to yourselves. Reception and table were brilliant, the food excellent and staff care beyond expectations. Thank you all again from the Cornwall section of the MX5 Club of UK. Second visit now and we shall certainly be returning in 2019. Mervyn, Lizzie and Freda (latter being our MX5!)

I had yet another pleasurable wander through the shops at Mullion Meadows today and realised for the umpteenth time how much it means to me and to many of my acquaintances.
I don't know why I haven't told you before.
I, and many of my friends and my colleagues, love to visit Mullion Meadows to 'get away from it all' without actually leaving Mullion. It is a space that belongs to everyone, locals and holiday maker alike and plenty of room for all, and the facilities are so well thought out. If the Mullion Post Office is on site it will be even better; saving such an essential part of village life when so many are being closed.
There is always something new to see and something to learn with such a variety of shops and crafts and businesses. The proprietors and staff are so friendly and helpful.
A place to sit and think, to appreciate Mullion, life in general and with no single reason to go. Groups or individuals come for a beverage or snack, or to shop for something unusual but it's a space I have noticed over the years where a whole community meet unintentionally and across different ages and hobbies. I have known foreign friends come here to speak English without embarrassment; seen out of boardroom discussions; arguments settled after years of miscommunication and because there is such space and it lends itself to a communal feeling but if needed a sense of privacy. Possibly you'd have to visit it to understand the feeling.
Perhaps it's something to do with the way they serve little extras with my frothy chocolate but I know really it's more the thought behind everything they do to make a visit worthwhile for each customer.
If you had a visitors book those without computers or very busy lives might add their thoughts on the spot of for you to see the silent fan club you have !! Just a thought.
To all of Mullion Meadows, thank you for the many years of enjoyment you have given me, my friends and colleagues and we look forward to many more.

What a great place to visit and in part of the country, as a crafter newbie I was particularly impressed with craft shop and it's owner who was more than helpful.

We are at the end of a week in Cornwall and as you will have need on the news and weather reports the weather has been very wet! We have still ventured out every day and visited many different places, even if the roads were blocked by water in places.

Yesterday, Alan Googled craft shops in the area and we set off to find Scrapbook Magic, which claims to be Cornwall's newest and best stockist of Scrapbooking materials. We were not disappointed, the shop with studio is situated within Mullion Meadows so is surrounded by other lovely shops selling homemade goods including a chocolate factory and a cafe.
The owner Margaret was busy making tags with some Indigo Blu products, but took time out to show us lots of the classes she and others had taught there. we also enjoyed leafing through her scrapbooks. She has a great range of materials in stock including Sizzix, Fancy Pants, Tando, Graphic 45, Tim Holtz, 7 Gypsies and Indigo Blu. There is a wide range of tools for use in class.
If you are ever in the area pop along and have a look at the lovely shop, so much inspiration there in all the hand made items on display. You can also shop on line.

After the shop we had a lovely lunch in the cafe then did our Easter shopping in the Chocolate Factory (they even catered for the milk intolerant - so Emily was not forgotten!).

At least with the cold wet weather the chocolate won't melt!

Thank you so much for your hospitality yesterday.

We often stop for a short break and lunch at an hotel or a larger chain pub that can easily accommodate 30-bums-on-seats (there were actually 43 yesterday) but, as it was Lizzie and Mervyn's inaugural organised rally (the Club refer to it as a 'Ru...n') we thought we would break from tradition and try to put some pennies back into local places. All enjoyed the stop over and we had a good following down to the Lizard for afternoon tea (methinks the cafe there, although we had visited previously to advise, did not expect us all, therefore space was very limited). In retrospect, perhaps next year we shall organise things so we drop in to see you a little later in the day, maybe 3.30pm, after we have visited wherever, for afternoon tea.

It turned out to be a smashing drive, through some of our Cornish lanes that not a lot know about. That is the thing about these Runs, those who are familiar with their immediate area organise the weekend event. Last one we attended was at Sidmouth but previous to that in the Brecon Beacons when around 100 vehicles arrived! The previous national run terminated at Pendennis Castle, Falmouth, with about 2,000 + vehicles. You can just imagine the workload on the restaurant! though, to be fair, it was meticulously organised.

A lot of the National MX5 Owners come down our way during the Spring and Summer and even some of our more local (Liskeard, Callington etc.) members that attended last weekend, have said they may well spend a weekend (or longer) to explore our beautiful coastline and countryside. Unbeknown to you, this last weekend we had a couple from the Midlands who came down especially to celebrate their 25th Wedding Anniversary, fell in love with Mullion and are going to come back

Look forward to seeing you again next year we hope. If we get enough members perhaps a one-off MX5 egg could be made? We would be able to confirm numbers in advance and sure that a little egg in the shape of an MX5 would sell very well.

Keep smiling,

Mervyn and Lizzie
